We are partnering with the NYC DOT in giving away bike bells, new 2012 bike maps, and Bike Smart booklets (important information everyone should know). At the same time, we'll be starting our first project by taking portraits of cyclists who ride the Queensboro Bridge as part of our storytelling series; celebrating and glorifying the cyclist, a commuter often ignored by cars, pedestrians and even other cyclists! As a thank you, we would love to take your bike portrait. It looks like great cycling weather tomorrow, so stop by, get some goodies and your portrait taken tomorrow if you have time.
The Biking Public Project aims to expand local cycling advocacy discussions by reaching out to underrepresented bicyclists around New York City including women, people of color, and delivery cyclists. POW! stands for People On Wheels, it is a new initiative formed from the 2nd Annual Youth Bike Summit.
