Giant USA has donated 100 bikes to people in the New York City areas hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. “Ride NYC Forward” is a partnership effort between Giant and two New York bicycle advocacy groups—Transportation Alternatives and Recycle-A- Bicycle—to improve mobility among residents in the stricken areas. Giant is sending 100 of its Revel 2 mountain bikes, as well as helmets and locks, to help people move about their neighborhoods and commute to work by bicycle.
Recycle-A-Bicycle and Transportation Alternatives will work together to place the bicycles with community-based organizations in the neighborhoods around the five boroughs most impacted by the storm, specifically the Rockaways, Red Hook, the Lower East Side, and coastal Staten Island. We will be delivering the bicycles in fleets no larger than 10, but as small as one, to ensure that we can reach as many organizations as possible.
If you are a community-based organization that could benefit from Giant's generous donation in your Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, please fill out the request form below and we will be in touch.
